If you are a beginner skater, you may want to go out and buy the biggest skate board ramp available, but unless you want to become good friends with the ground (and possibly your emergency room) you will want to start out with something smaller.
Over the last decade, the internet has brought a completely new element for shoppers. No longer do you have to spend hours combing through stores, wading through crowds, and spend way too much money to get your hands on a great deal. Now its as easy as typing a few words into a search engine and viola! Thousands of stores pop up just waiting for your business. Many of the clothing lines for skaters are coming out of the UK right now. This is often where the latest trends are beginning as well. This is quite a change from years past. The West Coast of the U.S. has always been at the forefront for these designs, but even this area cant compare with the UK now. Clothing lines such as Who Clothing, Sturban, Good Rock, and Yukka are all hugely popular. These are where youll find the coolest skate clothes nowadays. There are literally hundreds of other brands as well.
But there are a few things you want to look at. OK so the first thing you want to look at is how much pop the board has. If the board has a lot of pop than your going to be able to get better, higher Ollies. The next thing you want to look at is how much concave the board has. Concave is how much the sides of the board curve in. You really have to test out different boards to find how much concave is right for you. The more concave a board has, the better the board flips over like doing kick flips.
On the same note, smoking, drugs, and alcohol directly affect the nervous system. They destroy brain cells, and affect the ability to coordinate all functions. To seriously compete in this sport - you must maintain a superior healthy way of life. I would say even more than most sports, because like I mentioned - skate boarding is one of the hardest sports to master.
